Vaughan Williams’ Folk – June 2023

Vaughan Williams’ Folk is a National Lottery Heritage Fund project run by The East Anglian Traditional Music Trust from October 2022 – Autumn 2023 celebrating folk music collected by Ralph Vaughan Williams across East Anglia. In June 2023 Erin Brown & Nicky Stockman worked with a year 5 group to teach folksongs collected in Cambridgeshire and 2 dances set to the music collected by Vaughan Williams at Millfield Primary School in  Littleport. Maypole dancing at Folkie Funday, Ely – May 2023

A lovely afternoon of music and dance at our family-friendly folk session today in Ely, Cambridgeshire! The Maypole was a big hit with everyone - thanks so much to East Anglian Traditional Music Trust for loaning it to us. The group had a go at learning two maypole dances - The Twister and The Chrysanthemum We used resources and audio tracks shared by the English Folk Song and Dance Society.

A taste of traditional music at Brandon Library, with tea and cake!

Erin is performing at this East Anglian Traditional Music event on Thursday 10th March at Brandon Library along with James Delarre and Nicky Stockman. Come along if you are in the area!
