Do I need to be able to read music? 2018-08-25T10:28:44+00:00

No, most of my teaching is by ear but I can provide sheet music as a starting point if you prefer to learn that way.

Where do the lessons take place? 2019-09-04T15:55:54+00:00

At my teaching studio near Newmarket or I can travel to your home in Ely/East Cambridgeshire. In the future I’m hoping to start up music hubs in East Cambridgeshire and West Suffolk

I teach a range of repertoire which includes traditional folk tunes from England, Ireland and Scotland.

Can you help with bowing and other technique? 2018-08-25T10:31:06+00:00

Yes, this what I specialise in teaching!

Is there an opportunity to play with others? 2019-09-04T15:22:08+00:00

Not currently but in the near future I will be setting up folk music hubs in the East Cambridgeshire and West Suffolk areas, which will lead to the formation of groups of like-minded musicians who enjoy playing together, e.g. in a folk orchestra, folk singing group or (steady) session setting.
